“Roaming with wishes”
A Guide to relaxed travel for the
inspired nomad.
I have been fortunate enough to embark on many travel endeavors.
My adventures began as a fashion designer and photographer, capturing the world's beauty through my lens. I didn’t have fancy cameras in those days but was passionate about capturing the moment. I guess you remember the days when you had to use film and have your images processed.
My husband Keith and I volunteered with an aid agency for over 30 years where we witnessed firsthand the impact of people living in slums and terrible conditions. As a result, we were lucky to adopt 10 children born into such circumstances.
Along with our 3 children born to us, we are a unique family.
As my passion for textile art grew, I began teaching others at home first, and by unusual circumstances, I was asked to share my creative ideas with the world.
Finally, I embarked on the exciting role of leading tours to other countries, immersing myself in different cultures and customs.
These experiences have enriched my life in countless ways, leaving a lasting impression on my heart and soul and now I share it with you.
So I begin with the first blog post about our upcoming tour to India in a weeks time.
Let me explain, I work with a wonderful guide and Mentor, Govind Agrawal, one of India’s leading guides.
My husband Keith will also be on some of the tours and when he retires (finally) at the end of the year he will be a big part of the team.
When we share photos and videos of our travels, we invite our audience to participate by asking questions in the comments.
To help me keep track of everything and ensure my safety while abroad, I use an app called Tripit. This app allows me to enter all the necessary information about my trip, including my location, emergency contacts, and travel itinerary.
With this information, Tripit calculates my safety and provides me with peace of mind knowing that my family can be notified in case of an emergency. It also keeps track of how many trips I've taken, which is a fun feature to have.
Imagine my surprise yesterday when I found the statistics of the past 12 years. It would have been wonderful to have the app for the first 18 years of travel.
I personally think that preparation is as exciting as travel, and I hope to add another blog before I leave next week.
